What exactly is a Wireless Access Point, or WAP?
Is it different than an Access Point?
One could argue a WAP is a Mesh AP, because after all its connectivity is wireless by the very terms used in WAP.
Nonetheless if you call it a WAP you might as well be shopping/working at Best Buy or Fry's.
So stop using WAP in your naming convention, documentation, meetings, love letters, etc.
Honestly, this is from a bunch of old fuddy duddies that need to have their way or no way.
The truth is, WAP can actually be beneficial on an architectural drawing where "Access Point" might mean where you can gain access to the ceiling.
So use whatever you need to for clarity and stop listening to others so much!
